As good as it get’s – a ready to enjoy duck foie gras entier (the best grade available) prepared by Edouard Artzner foie gras specialists in Alsace – best served cool in fine slices on some lightly toasted bread or brioche.
Edouard Artzner are one of France’s oldest and most reputed foie gras houses and their foie gras “entier” are the best ones they do. It is fully ready to eat and “entier” refers simply to the fact they use the best quality whole foie gras lobes to make these.
We would rate this one of the very best foie gras we have tried with near perfect texture and a superb flavour and quite exceptional.
The natural wine pairing would be a Sauternes – in terms of chutneys and accompaniments – we feel this foie gras is so good, it does not need them. As ever, serve it cool.
