High-quality duck confit prepared by Castaing in the Landes region of Southwest France using free range ducks.
The legs are large and visibly of high quality, the breeding quality of the ducks used is outstanding and really noticeable and the flavour and texture of this confit are perfect.
Storage? Confit can be stored in a cupboard 2 years. Once opened store in fridge and consume within 3 days.
Ingredients? Free range duck legs, duck fat, salt.
Duck Confit Preparation Tips
It’s worth placing your jar of duck confit at room temperature a couple of hours before use to loosen the duck fat so it’s easier to remove the duck legs.
Once done remove the duck confit from jar brushing off any excess fat and place in an oven dish.
Pre-heat oven to 180c and place confit de canard in oven for circa 25 minutes until crisp and golden brown.
Duck confit goes well with roast potatoes, a side salad, lentils, cassoulet beans, braised red cabbage …
