We have tried many goose foie gras over the years, and would rate this one of the finest examples we have tried with near perfect texture and flavour.
Edouard Artzner, our supplier, are one of France’s oldest and most reputed foie gras producers and give this foie gras their 5* rating – their highest grade.
Goose foie gras entier (whole goose foie gras) is fully cooked, seasoned and ready to eat – the “whole” refers to the fact these foie gras are made with best quality whole foie gras lobes (rather than off cuts which are blended into a paste as in the case of foie gras bloc).
Best enjoyed served cool in fine slices on some lightly toasted white bread or brioche together with a wine jelly or chutney of your choice – the natural wine pairing would be a Sauternes.
Goose liver, salt, cognac, sugar, spices, antioxidant: sodium ascorbate, preserving agent: sodium nitrite.
Store in a cupboard. Once open store in a fridge and consume within 3 days.
