A great introduction to caviar at a very good price and popular to send as a fine food gift – one  50g tin will serve one very generously or give two a taste of caviar!

Our House Selection caviar is a pure baerii caviar. The eggs are similar in size to Oscietra, but are rather darker in colour, some verging towards black.

The caviar is lightly salted and has a mild, clean taste. It is surprisingly complex, with flavours of the sea sprinkled with citrus undertones.

It comes from our main caviar supplier in northern Italy and is a pure Siberian (Baerii);With regards how best to enjoy and serve caviar – traditional accompaniments are to put caviar on small blinis topped with sour cream and to drink it with ice cold vodka.

We personally feel that the most enjoyable way to enjoy is served very cool on a spoon – the experience does not last long but you really get the full burst of flavour of caviar then!

What is Borax?
Borax, also known as Sodium borate, is a form of salt that is traditionally used in caviar production. It helps in the preservation process, improves consistency and also enhances the flavour.

Caviar Storage:

Please note that all caviar products should be refrigerated upon receipt. Once opened, consume within 48 hours. Caviar can be stored in a domestic fridge from -2c to +4c (the colder and closer to 0c the better!) 4 weeks and more. When storing caviar in your fridge, it is important to store it at the back of the fridge on the bottom shelf where it is coolest and temperature does not fluctuate.
