A very enjoyable French lobster butter (beurre de homard), which more than anything else resembles a very good lobster pate.
Our tasting notes?! Simply that it tastes very good. Of lobster naturally – the flavour is strong (but not overly), well balanced, and the texture is very pleasant (like for it’s sister product, the crab butter, we found ourselves eating it by the spoon the first time we tried it!).
A natural way to enjoy this lobster butter this would be to spread a liberal amount on some warm finely sliced toast with an optional side salad. And if you were looking for a wine to go with it, a chilled medium Riesling or Sancerre or Vouvray.
You could also serve the lobster butter on canapes when entertaining for something delicious and a little different! And these smart little jars work well in luxury French food hampers and to send as fine food gifts.
Can be stored for well over a year in a cupboard unopened. Once open, store your lobster butter in a fridge and consume within 2 days to enjoy it at it’s best.
Our lobster butter is prepared by Cruscana, a French food company founded in 1965 and specialising in creating seafood based butters based on the traditional recipes of Auguste Escoffier, the famous French chef!
