We have just received more Tarta di Santiago (limited supplies as these are made fresh and have relatively short life) – please read on, but if we had to sum this up on one sentence, we would say it is one of the finest fine foods we have introduced to our range in some time!
This is simply delicious and one of the best fine foods we have recently introduced – highly recommended! These cakes are made fresh and wonderfully moist!
A very fine almond based flavour of the South and lovely moist texture – perfect enjoyed with afternoon tea or coffee and of very high quality!
Tarta de Santiago is the iconic product of this Galician city, popular with pilgrims for over a thousand years.
Composed of a pastry case filled with almond paste, the most recognisable characteristic of the cake is the cross of St James in sugar on its surface. Rich, dense and moist, a delicious hand-made cake.
Once open, store it in it’s box in a plastic bag so that it remains moist – like that you have around 10 days to enjoy it!
