Celebrating 30 Years of The Good Food Network: Bringing the Best of French and European Gourmet Food to British Tables Since 1996
In 2026, The Good Food Network proudly celebrates 30 years of helping food lovers discover exceptional gourmet food from France and across Europe.
Founded in 1996 by Paul Gimblett, The Good Food Network was built on a simple idea: to make authentic, high-quality European speciality foods available to customers who appreciate great taste, traditional craftsmanship and genuine culinary heritage.
Three decades later, that passion remains at the heart of everything we do.
From premium foie gras and artisan terrines to traditional cassoulet, duck confit, seafood specialities, olive oils and gourmet gifts, we continue to source products that offer customers an authentic taste of some of Europe’s most celebrated food regions.
Our Story: Founded on a Passion for Exceptional Food
When Paul Gimblett established The Good Food Network in 1996, the gourmet food landscape looked very different.
Authentic regional French foods were difficult to find in the UK, and many of the artisan producers that are now household names among food enthusiasts were largely unknown outside their local regions.
Recognising a growing appetite for quality ingredients and authentic European cuisine, Paul set out to create a specialist food business dedicated to sourcing products with genuine provenance, exceptional flavour and traditional production methods.
The mission was never simply to sell food.
It was to help customers experience the pleasure of authentic regional cooking, whether enjoying a rustic cassoulet from South West France, a carefully crafted foie gras from Alsace, or premium seafood specialities inspired by the French coastline.
30 Years of Trusted Gourmet Food Expertise
Over the past three decades, The Good Food Network has built long-standing relationships with respected producers throughout France and Europe.
These partnerships allow us to offer carefully selected products that reflect the traditions, skills and culinary heritage of the regions from which they originate.
We believe great food begins with great producers.
That is why we focus on suppliers who share our commitment to:
