About this product
An outstanding goose foie gras entier (the best available) prepared by Castaing in the Landes region – Castaing supply “La Grande Epicerie” in Paris – the French equivalent to our Harrods and their foie gras are supremely good – perfectly seasoned, perfect texture and one of the finer foie gras we have sampled in years.
The seasoning includes a small amount of port wine and this just gives a soupcon of sweetness (very very slight), which marries perfectly with the savoury flavour of the foie gras. Near perfection!
Storage? Store in a cupboard 1 year minimum. Once open store in a fridge and consume within 3 days.
Foie Gras Serving Suggestions?
Foie gras is best enjoyed served cool in fine slices on some lightly toasted white bread or brioche together with a sauternes wine jelly or fig jam. That said, this foie gras is so good, we find it does not even need an accompaniment and is perfect just on toast.
