Oh My! mushroom soup that tastes of mushrooms! Very, very enjoyable. Another “lay a stock in for winter” item (which I have already done to beat the rush). All round very flavoursome. Some observations (not criticisms) would be that it is a bit of a challenge to persuade the veloute to exit the containing jar! I suspect that a 5-10 minute immersion of the jar in hot water would ease things. I added about 2 cms of water into the jar and re-closed it and shook well but even then it was necessary to stir the contents with a long small-headed spoon and extract it all in stages. I warmed it in a bowl in the microwave on “LOW” setting for 5 minutes, stirring at 2 minutes and 4 minutes and again at the last. Then upped the ante and microwaved at “MEDIUM” for 4 minutes stirring after each minute, by which time everything was “piping hot” and hadn’t boiled.
If I did have one very minor quibble, the cepes were diced far too small, I like some chunky bits in my soup.
Easily enough for 2 people as a soup ‘starter’ to a main meal, given the richness more than adequate for an evening meal for one hungry male with a couple of rounds of toast.
I shall certainly re-stock for the 2027/2028 winter.

Sudden thought – I bet it could be extended with 25% added “gold top” milk, I shall experiment come winter.
