A delicious speciality from Southern Italy – crunchy, flavoursome mini onions pickled in balsamic vinegar – the resulting flavour is very pleasant – both sharp and sweet.
Delicious on their own – we found ourselves eating them by the spoon!
Borretane onions also work well alongside other mixed Italian antipasti, with hard cheeses such as cheddar as part of a Ploughman’s lunch.
They are much milder in flavour than English pickled onions – and smaller too.

Borettane onions, water, balsamic vinegar, sugar, wine vinegar, salt, extra virgin olive oil, acidity regulator: citric acid.
Naturally gluten free.
