A very high quality goose confit prepared by Castaing in the Landes region of South West France.
The Castaing brand of confit are the most expensive in the range – but we feel this is more than justified.
The quality of the goose meat used is outstanding and is really noticeable – the goose leg is very large and will serve two.
2 years life minimum unopened.
Goose legs, goose fat, salt.
Can be stored in a cupboard 4 years. Once opened store in fridge and consume within 3 days.
Per 100g : 2212 kJ (528 kcal) Fat : 51g of which saturated : 15g / Carbohydrates : 0.5g of which sugars : 0.5g / Protein : 15g / Salt : 1.1g.
It’s worth placing your jar of goose confit at room temperature a couple of hours before use to loosen the duck fat so it’s easier to remove the duck legs from the tin.
Once done remove the goose confit from jar brushing off any excess fat and place in an oven dish.
Pre-heat oven to 180c and place confit in oven for circa 25 minutes until crisp and golden brown.
Goose confit goes well with roast potatoes, a side salad, lentils, cassoulet beans, braised red cabbage …
