The famous Severn and Wye smoked salmon – in organic version – this is just about the best smoked salmon we have tried, and many of our customers who have tried it in the past have emailed to let us know how good it is!
We had fairly recently showcased the Severn and Wye VAR smoked salmon, which they feel is the best in the range – but having compared both, all of the Good Food Network staff find the organic version even better.
It has a great flavour, perfect smoking (not too much), it is not overly salted, the texture is just superb (very soft and yielding), and served at room temperature with some fresh lemon juice, or with toasted rye bread and butter, you are in for a real treat.
With regard wine pairings, a very chilled white wine such as a Muscadet, Sancerre, or Riesling.
Salmon 97%, salt.
Store in a fridge until best before date. Once open we recommend using your salmon within 3 days. Please note that smoked salmon can be successfully frozen. And if you don't use it immediately, or all at once, you are probably best of freezing it.
