The famous cheese from the French Jura and this particular Vacherin is one of the best we have tried for some years.

Vacherin Mont D’or is a raw cow’s milk cheese which becomes runny as it matures and is characterised by the flavour of the spruce bark which surrounds the cheese.

Always a point of interest on a cheeseboard and really delicious served at room temperature with oatcakes.

You can also bake this cheese in the wooden box it comes in although we feel it’s at it’s best not cooked.
