    Description

    Vacherin is an unpasteurised washed rind cow’s milk cheese from the Jura mountains in France.

    The characteristic of Vacherin is that the spruce bark which surrounds the cheese imparts it’s own special flavour.

    Full flavoured when ripe, but not overly strong – it’s best left to ripen a little, so that it becomes runny inside.

    Works very well with oatcakes!
