A real delicacy!
Traditionally smoked eel fillets prepared by the highly reputed Severn and Wye smokery.
Smoked eel has a rich, smoky, and fishy flavour – the texture is hard to describe – the French work “moelleux” may be closest – a poor translation, would be “melt in the mouth” – though we feel this somewhat overused as a term!
If you enjoy smoked salmon, you will probably enjoy smoked eel.
Delicious enjoyed on some lightly toasted rye bread – and if you do have some horseradish in a jar (sadly we do not do this), it goes marvelously well with eel!
Store in a fridge 0-4c/ best before 06.07.2020 – it can be frozen though we still feel it’s better eaten fresh within these dates.
