A lovely smell of seafood welcomes you when you open the jar – and this is a unique recipe, prepared for us my Conserverie Ambroisie in the Cap Ferret (Basin d’Arcachon), a region of South West France reputed for its Osyer and mussel production.
The flavour is just superb – mussels, seafood, the white wine in the background, then the saffron comes through – like with the Oyster rillettes, which we sampled first, great depth of flavour and a very lingering and plesant taste on the palate. A superb product!
To enjoy at it’s best, serve cool on some finely sliced toasted bread, with a side salad. You can odd a sprinkling of fleur de sel or a drop or two of lemon juice – just outstanding!
Mussels (50%), white wine, cream, shallots, garlic, modified corn starch, natural thickener, saffron.
Store in a cupboard up to one year. Once open store in a fridge 0-4c and consume within one week.
